Super-fast connection. Wednesdays at 6pm.
5G is a cycling community based in Golden, Colorado.
Long before VOID was realized, we started 5G as an informal weekly ride linking our favorite backyard trails. Five years in, the club has established itself as a pillar of the Front Range cycling community, bringing together 30-50 of our 1000+ members each Wednesday for a ~90 minute sampler of the best gravel Golden has to offer. From spring to fall, three rotating loops leave from New Terrain Brewing, always back in time for a cold, local beer before dark.
These loops are still the proving ground—geometry tweaks, clearance adjustments, and gearing ratios are based around backyard dirt roads and doubletrack on North and South Table Mountains, where loose rock and shoshonite porphyry push bikes to their limits. Lessons learned from untimely mechanicals, banged-up elbows, and a few near misses with prairie rattlesnakes have served as field testing for every bike we’ve ever sold. Semi-regular weekend FIELD (T)RIPs strengthen connection further, introducing rugged mountain passes and champagne gravel in the far corners of Colorado.
5G isn’t an offshoot of VOID—it’s the origin, and still functions as one. Regulars and first-timers ride the same loop; pace lands somewhere between party and pushing it, depending on who shows up that particular Wednesday. We’ve always believed cycling is a social sport, and 5G is our finger to the pulse.
